The iPod Touch: Is it Gold or a Boo-boo?

The recent launch of iPod’s newest addition to its impressive ranks, the iPod Touch, caused rambunctious reactions from fans and techies both in and out of the World Wide Web. With the almost undistinguishable features of the iPod Touch from the iPhone, rants and raves from reviews sprouted left and right. A lot of fans simply gushed over the idea of a touch-screen iPod, but when Apple decided to remove a few features from the original advertisements, the buzz really began.

The question is… is the iPod Tuoch the latest in iPod a valuable addition to the iPod lineup, or did they unknowingly created iPhone’s biggest competitor? The latest in iPod includes the almost-identical functionalities as the iPhone. In fact, the description of the iod Touch says “iPod Touch features the same revolutionary interface as iPhone”. The said interface includes features such as a large 3.5-inch display, touch-screen interface, touch-screen QWERTY keyboard, Safari browser, and YouTube.

iPod Classic with Cover Flow

When Apple released the iPod for the very first time in October of 2001, a whole new era of portable mp3 players was unleashed. This first generation iPod boasted of a 5 GB storage space that was capable of storing up to 1,000 songs. Its functionality was packed into such a small body which was an innovation during that time. From its humble mechanical scroll wheel with an OK button at its center and four auxiliary buttons around it, the iPod has evolved through the years and has gotten leaner and more powerful.

Exploring the Power of Touch with Apple’s Latest iPod

In addition to the new iPod Shuffle, iPod Nano and iPod Classic, Apple CEO Steve Jobs revealed the iPod Touch, which he described as “One of the Seven Wonders of the World” during Apple’s special media event held in San Francisco last September 5, 2007. The iPod Touch is the first iPod that features Apple’s revolutionary multi-touch interface similar to that of the iPhone, which was released in June of this year.

A new iPod nano was released at “The Beat Goes On”, Apple’s special media event held in San Francisco last September 5, 2007. One of the major features of this new iPod is its bright 2 inch screen that now displays video, allowing you to watch up to 5 hours of movies, TV shows, music videos, and podcasts in the palm of your hand.

The iPod Shuffle

The smallest of all the iPods released. The iPod Shuffle is known as “the most wearable iPod ever”. When first released, the iPod Shuffle sported a candy bar shape. It was either worn around the neck or with a band. Later developments on this tiny iPod resulted to its current clip form. This new look allowed the user to clip the iPod Shuffle anywhere desired.

The iPod Nano

Released earlier this month together with other iPod models, this teeny iPod hold its own. Despite being only 2.75 x 2.06 inches, it can hold up to 1000 or 2000 songs or 3,500 to 7,000 viewable photos or 4 to 8 hours of video, depending on the memory capacity. Its battery lasts for up to 24 hours of audio playback or up to 5 hours of video playback. So, despite being teeny tiny, this little iPod packs a whopper!

American Dad and iPod

iPod, a History

We play our favorite music in it, watch videos, movies and TV shows, store pictures, play games and so much more. For a lot of people it has become an everyday object. Something so imbedded into our daily routine that it tends to fade into the background. Now, with the release of newer models, it is perhaps high time that we look back and see; what has made, the iPod what it is.

The iPod Vs. Zune

New Generation iPod Games
